In 2019, Google achieved "quantum supremacy". What warning does it give to the blockchain world?
Research by the National Institute of Standards and Technology shows that the ECDSA elliptic curve encryption algorithm commonly used in public chains will fail when facing a quantum computer with 4,000 qubits. The quantum roadmap released by IBM shows that quantum computers will be able to break through 1,000 qubits in 2025, and the encryption protection of traditional public chains is facing a crisis.
